I work in Advanced Robotics at General Motors R&D

How many years have you been a mentor?

Eight

What is your favorite part of robotics?

Helping students to realize how they can make a difference by working together in the solution of a common problem.

What is your favorite robotics memory?

During build season the electrical team wired all the electronics and every student of the subteam check that ALL connections were correct. When they were convinced everything was OK they plug it into the battery and the whole thing when up in smoke. All wiring was correct, but the battery was connected backwards. Those students tell me that they will never, EVER, forget to check for correct power polarity in the future.
